
Fred Weiss
Fred Weiss is the Executive Director of Samaritan’s Purse Canada, an evangelistic Christian relief and development organization.
Samaritan’s Purse Canada is well known for its annual Operation Christmas Child program that partners with Canadians to send hundreds of thousands of gift-filled shoeboxes to hurting children around the world each year and sharing the true meaning of Christmas. The Calgary-based organization also provides disaster relief internationally and also within Canada-including the recent responses to flooding in and around Fort Vermillion Alberta, Grande Cache and Vernon British Columbia.
Fred began with Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) in 2000 and has served as Executive Director since 2006. He also serves as Executive Director of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada (BGEAC), an international evangelistic ministry committed to proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus while also equipping others to do the same. Fred began with BGEAC in 2003 and has served as Executive Director since 2006.
A native Calgarian, Fred is married to Renee. Together, they have two sons, who have blessed them with two wonderful daughters-in-laws, and two grandchildren. Prior to joining Samaritan’s Purse Fred enjoyed a successful 22-year business career with one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies.
