Bill Hogg
Bill Hogg is one of Canadaโs leading missiologists, and highly regarded as an authoritative evangelism champion. He is a published author and former radio talk show host and has served as a pastor, professor, evangelist, and a movie extra! He was involved in pioneer evangelism in his native Scotland, developing Youth for Christ in his role as National Evangelist. Bill launched and led the largest regular youth event in Scotland, Powerpoint. God gave Hogg a vision for a larger scale outreach. This culminated in the area wide youth mission, Our Turn Now, which was the largest ever evangelistic outreach to Scottish youth. OTN convened in the Kelvin Hall Sports Arena where Billy Graham conducted his Glasgow Crusade in 1955, and Luis Palau conducted a six-week campaign in 1981.
Through Powerpoint and Our Turn Now, thousands of Scottish young people heard the good news of Jesus, and hundreds gave their lives to Christ. During that time, he was a member of the Scottish Lausanne Committee on World Evangelization. Hogg was also part of the Canadian delegation for the Third and Fourth Lausanne Global Congresses on Evangelization. He is part of the Arrow Leadership Ministries faculty offering congregationalย and para- church leaders training in evangelism. He served as National Missiologist with a Canadian interdenominational church planting network. He has been involved in assessing, coaching, training and supporting church planters for several years. Bill was part of the SEND Institute Missiologists Council and is a drafter of the church planting manifesto https://www.sendinstitute.org/manifesto/#drafters. He also serves on the Church Planting Canada leadership team. His doctoral research focused on the missional renewal of the church. Bill is an ordained minister of the gospel with the Apostolic Church of Pentecostย
and serves on Wes Millโs National Team as the National Evangelist. Billโs passion is communicating the good news of Jesus, igniting the fires of evangelism, and encouraging and equipping Godโs people to share the gospel. He loves encouraging younger leaders and mentoring evangelists.ย
Bill dreams of seeing a new generation of Canadian evangelists raised up by God and released into the harvest fields. He also longs to see teams of downwardly mobile urban missionaries put roots down deep in broken postal codes to share their lives, share the gospel, and to bless and elevate the poor.ย
