Corey Butler is the Founder and Executive Director of Zamar Music Inc., a multifaceted music arts organization committed to impacting individuals and communities through music art education, performance and production, and mentorship.

As a music professor in York University’s Arts, Media, Performance, and Design Program since 2008, Corey inspires and empowers students to embrace the music arts. His commitment to post-secondary music arts education also underscores his desire to grow the arts community by identifying and encouraging the next generation of skilled, talented, and passionate creatives.

Utilizing his expertise as a professional musician in a career which spans over 20 years, Butler accompanied some of the finest modern-era musicians and vocalists, including Canada’s incomparable Jackie Richardson and gospel music legend Carvin Winans, member of Grammy-winning gospel quartet The Winans.

Corey’s commitment to music production excellence through in-studio and on-stage projects has national and international impact.  His Canadian roster includes awardwinning projects for the Toronto Mass Choir, and internationally, he produced a Polish music project for Gospel Joy in 2016.  Butler, who seamlessly doubles as Artistic and Musical Director, curates edutainment experiences through but not limited to concert performances that enlighten, educate, and foster ideals of love, equity and diversity.

In his down time, Corey enjoys action movies, quiet walks in the serenity of nature and his guilty pleasure is a giant bag of regular flavoured potato chips.
