David Dwarka

David has worked with people all his professional life and wouldn’t want it any other way. His passion for working with people and providing help is evident in his role as a psychotherapist and chaplain.He employs a Strengths-Based approach that focuses on recognizing and leveraging individuals’ strengths, resilience, and skills to empower them to view themselves and their situations in positive and transformative ways. By highlighting these qualities, David aims to guide people toward a more constructive understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and circumstances. 

One of David’s notable strengths is his ability to forge deep connections with the individuals he serves. This skill is valuable in both counselling and chaplaincy contexts, as it allows him to establish trust and create a supportive environment. Building such meaningful connections contributes to the effectiveness of his guidance and support. 

David’s personal experiences with the ups and downs of his mental health journey during his youth provide him with a profound sense of empathy and understanding. This background allows him to approach his roles with genuine care and compassion. His own journey likely enables him to relate to others facing similar challenges and fosters an environment where individuals feel understood and accepted. Overall, David’s dedication to empowering others and his ability to connect deeply with people make him a valuable resource in both psychotherapy and chaplaincy. 

David is an Ordained Minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists, and a Professional Member of the Ontario Association for Mental Health Professionals. On the personal side, David is not afraid to confess a lifelong love affair with the game of basketball. After playing into his college years, David now finds himself cheering on the Toronto Raptors alongside his beloved wife and three daughters.
