Joshua Ali is an international Gospel recording artist, producer, and musical ambassador from Trinidad and Tobago, now residing in Canada where he serves as a worship pastor in Ontario. Raised in the church and musically trained from a young age, he was mentored by legendary engineers Martin Raymond and Dextor Simmonsโ whose credits include work with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Beyoncรฉ. Since launching his performance career in 2015, Ali has pioneered a unique genre he calls โalternative Gospel,โ blending Caribbean soca with contemporary and traditional Gospel sounds. His debut album Over Dey โ Where Home Is delivered standout hits
like โBlanketโ and โOver Dey,โ earning him recognition throughout the Gospel music community.
Aliโs life is a living testimony of Godโs powerโhe and his three siblings are all miracle babies, a story that continues to inspire those struggling to believe that God is real. His journey of faith became even more personal when he and his wife Ashley welcomed their son, Israel Aliโa miracle baby and a constant reminder of Godโs goodness and faithfulness. Israelโs life has strengthened their testimony, showing that even through seasons of loss and difficulty, God restores and brings forth joy.
His work has earned him numerous accolades, including five Marlin Awardsโwith his first win in 2017, and four more in 2025 where he emerged as one of the top awardees in the entire Caribbean. He has also received 14 recent Marlin Award nominations and 19 nominations at the Atlanta Music Awards. In 2021, he became a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy. His song โOn My Wayโ was selected for Grammy consideration, and his production on Kay Morrisโ โAbba Ohโ was also recognized by the Academy.
Beyond the achievements, Joshua is a devoted husband to Ashley Ali and proud father to Israelโtheir greatest joy and motivation. At the heart of his calling is a clear and urgent message: Jesus is coming soon.
