Judie Thorburn

Judie Thorburn

Judie Thorburn is a student pursuing a degree in Labour Studies with a minor in Business. At age nine, her family moved to Africa, where she first witnessed the realities of global inequalities, and the value of life beyond material wealth. Her childhood was rooted in simplicity, nature, and community, which left a lasting impression on her personal worldview and understanding of life.

After returning to Canada, she was faced with culture shock. As a teenager, Judie experienced objectification and isolation, and observed how North American culture normalizes the sexualization of young girls. This contrast deepened her awareness of societal harm and the silent suffering many young women face.

Over time, this began to wear Judie down and made her feel hopeless. This was until she refocused on her peace, faith, and values. She began to reflect on her life and was reminded of her true worth. She began to understand that there was a greater purpose for everything she had journeyed through. She felt led to help other women and girls who experienced what she did and wants to help them see their worth too. She has committed her life to making a difference here, advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. Her goal is to help others find their voice, rise above their pain, and reclaim the strength this world tries to take from them.
