Vibrant and empowering are words that encapsulate Londa Larmond’s artistry. A self-taught Canadian vocalist with a jazz-toned gospel style and a commanding, soulful voice, Londa is known for seamlessly blending passion with finesse. She has captivated audiences worldwide with her dynamic performances and inspiring messages of faith and love.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, to Jamaican parents Ethan and Evan, Londa’s journey into music began at a young age. Growing up in a household filled with gospel music, she sang in church at seven years old. By 14, she began performing professionally as a member of Toronto’s celebrated Youth Outreach Mass Choir. Her early career also included singing with the Gospel Soul Sisters and later with the internationally renowned Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale, solidifying her reputation as a promising voice in gospel music.

Londa’s breakthrough came in 2001 with her debut solo album, LOVE LETTERS, cemented her status as one of Canada’s gospel trailblazers. The album earned her critical acclaim, including the Canadian Urban Music Award for Best Gospel Recording, a GMA Dove Award nomination for Urban Album of the Year, and a JUNO Award nomination for Gospel Album of the Year.

Her extraordinary voice and presence have taken her beyond music. Londa’s powerful performance in the blockbuster film The Blues Brothers 2000 introduced her to global audiences, where she sang alongside music legends such as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Erykah Badu, and Eric Clapton. She also lent her talent to the film’s Grammy-nominated Certified Gold soundtrack. On stage, Londa’s role in the Tony Award-winning musical Caroline or Change earned her a Best Female Performance in a Musical nomination. It contributed to the production, winning the Dora Award for Outstanding Musical.

Londa has also graced audiences in theatrical productions like Melody of Deception, Trust God, and Amazing Grace, directed by Dr. Elaine Brown-Spencer. Her ability to connect with diverse audiences has taken her on tours across the UK, the Caribbean, and Canada.

As a multifaceted artist, Londa has excelled as a singer, actress, and voice-over performer, showcasing her versatility and passion for the arts. Her talent and dedication continue to inspire listeners and audiences everywhere.

Londa lives in Toronto with her two sons when she’s not on stage or in the studio.
