Shirley Thiessen

From her own grief journey, Shirley Thiessen knows how the death of a special relationship can feel like a terrifying earthquake, shaking one’s faith to the core. Joy and purpose often feel impossible to recapture when your heart is shattered.

Shirley has discovered that participating with God to recycle her pain by serving others rekindles her divine spark.

As a grief educator, author and founder of CornerBend Grief Ministries, Shirley leverages every opportunity to make God’s love visible to grieving souls. No one should have to grieve alone.

Her mission is to inspire every generation to effectively support their grieving friends with empathy and compassion.

With her husband, Carey, Shirley resides in Calgary and then enjoy living just minutes away from their married daughter, Chantel and her family. Their son, Jordan, lives in Heaven.
