Reclaiming Honesty

In today’s world, where the mentality of “get what you want at any cost” prevails, honesty has become a forgotten value. We’ve learned to leverage dishonesty for personal gain, spinning information to suit our own needs. Phrases like “my truth” have replaced God’s truth, leading to a breakdown in trust and authenticity. When personal bias takes precedence over integrity, relationships are damaged, and the foundation of truth erodes.

In Genesis, God created us to live openly with Him and one another. But dishonesty, introduced by the serpent (Genesis 3), planted seeds of mistrust. Since then, fear, image control, and the desire for instant gratification have overshadowed integrity and transparency.

Dishonesty destroys trust. Whether in relationships, at work, or within ourselves, hiding the truth isolates us and burdens us with guilt. We may think we’re protecting ourselves by covering up, but we’re only building walls that trap us, keeping us from the freedom God intends.

Honesty—real, God-honouring honesty—brings freedom. Ephesians 4:25 urges us to “put off falsehood and speak truthfully.” As Jesus said in John 8:32, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” When we embrace God’s truth, we reclaim who we were created to be.

It starts by being honest with ourselves. Psalm 139:23-24 invites us to let God search our hearts. Vulnerability is the path to healing. Then, we must be truthful with others, allowing honesty to rebuild trust (Colossians 3:9).

So, maybe its time to ask again, “Am I truly living in God’s truth—in word and deed?”

Trust The Unseen Work

Growth doesn’t happen overnight. Plant a seed, and for weeks it looks like nothing is happening. Yet beneath the soil, roots are spreading, and life is forming in ways unseen. Our lives can feel much the same. We pray, we wait, we hope—and nothing seems to change. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder, “Is God really working here?”

Pride Goes Before Destruction

Pride Goes Before Destruction

“Pride goes before destruction.” (Proverbs 16:18) Those are sobering words — but they’re also deeply personal. Pride doesn’t always roar; sometimes it whispers, “You’re doing just fine without God.” It convinces us that we’re the main character in our own story, that life works best when we’re in control.

God Is with You in Every Chapter

Have you ever faced a season where nothing seemed to go right? Doors closed. People let you down. Plans crumbled. It’s easy in those moments to ask, “God, where are You?”  We often believe the quiet lie that if God is truly with us, life will get easier.
